2017 marks the 300th Anniversary of the Amalgamation of the United Grand Lodge of England and Karnak Lodge #492 is proud to be part of that history for the last 108 years. Our lodge has a core group of members ranging in ages from men in their 20’s-90’s and from all walks of life. We are a diverse group of men ranging from hydro workers, fire fighters, principals, farmers, restaurant managers, carpenters, and peace officers all with the common goal of bettering ourselves and improving the lives of those around us. It is said that Freemasonry takes good men and makes good men better, Karnak lodge is no different. We all joined to better ourselves and to better serve our community.
Freemasonry is a system of morality where we use symbols/tools like the level to teach equality, the plum rule to outline just and upright behavior and the chisel teaches us perseverance. For example the chisel, while small in size, used with skill and determination can adorn a mighty structure with beautiful carvings on a megalithic scale, like the Temple in Karnak, Egypt. Freemasonry will give you the tools literally and figuratively to reflect upon a moral and apply it to oneself.
Karnak Lodge has passed these life lessons on for over 100 years and we continue assist the community whenever we can. As the saying goes “To Be One , Ask One”. If you are interested in bettering yourself, your family and community please send us a message on our website and we will promptly reply with answers to any of your questions.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
W. Bro. William Griffin
